Let's read together

Original version(translated into Latin by Phaedrus)

Olim garrula cicada in leafy silva canebat, industrious ant autem assidue laborabat.

Cicada formicam videt et bestiolae industriam ita vituperat: “Stupid ant, cur vitam tuam in opera dissipas? Ego contra in Umbra requiesco, vitam laetam et sine curis ago etagricolturas delecto”.

At sedula ant cicadae laziness contemnit, nec insolentiam curat, sed persevere in his work.

Cum autem hiemens venit propter pristinam industriam formicae magna copie micarum est et cum laetitia vivit; cicada, contra, neglect his escas no habet et in miseria est.

Tunc formicam implored: “Da mihi, quaeso, paucas micas quia famelica sum”.

Sed improvidae cicadae ant responded: “Antea canebas, no jump!”.

Literal Translationin Italian

Once upon a time a chatty cicada sang in a forest, while a hard-working ant worked assiduously.

The cicada saw the ant and in this way criticized the work of the little animal: “Foolish ant, why do you waste your life in work? On the contrary, I relax in the shade, live a happy and worry-free life and make the farmers cheer up."

However, the diligent ant despised the cicada's laziness and paid no attention to his insolence but persevered in his work.

However, when winter arrives, thanks to its previous commitment, there is a great abundance of crumbs and the ant lives happily; the cicada, on the contrary, due to its negligence has no food and is in a state of misery.

Then she begs the ant: “Give me a few crumbs, please, for I am hungry.”

But the ant responds to the naive cicada: “First you sang, now you dance!”.
