I meditate: the table

We were a table with 4 legs: solid, robust, laden, joyful, on it we basted our love.

Solid thanks to ours experience, no longer young men, but forty-year-old adults, with life behind them.

Robust, made of roads traveled, potholes, jolts, rain, and sun.

We lay down on the grass on May 28, 2005, and our table was a tablecloth with flowers. It was me and Giuseppina.

Così è nata la nostra famiglia. Dio ci guidava, e ci guardava, e ci amava.

And grace has come down to us, with us.

Sei arrivato tu, Eugenio: il 29 agosto 2006 abbiamo imbandito la tavola, la nostra tavola robusta e solida.

And it was a party every day!

Però mancava la 4 gamba al tavolo: l’hai chiesta a Gesù, e Lui ci ha mandato Francesca.

Il tavolo era completo: grazia, gioia, festa, amore.

Dio era felice, e noi con Lui.

Eugenio: eri così permeato d’amore, di grazia, di luce, da brillare anche nella notte più buia.

E così Dio ti ha voluto accanto a se, ad illuminare il firmamento, a correre in quel prato dove c’è ancora la tovaglia di mamma e papà, a giocare con tutti i ragazzi con le ali.

Il 17 ottobre 2020, respirando a fondo tutta l’aria di questa terra, l’hai lasciata, per sempre. E sei andato dal Padre.

Our table had some hesitation, a few moments in which it staggered: you were missing, a leg was missing from the table.

Ma ogni volta che tentenna, barcolla, ecco che arriva Gesù!

"Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, I'm here!”

E il tavolo trova la sua solidità, la stabilità.

And we go back to partying, joyful, happy, with the flowery tablecloth on our four-legged table.

And there you are, and we are, we are still united, always united.
