Hospital diary: October 9, 2019, Wednesday
Pozzilli (IS) is still asleep when we get to work at the crack of dawn.
We often look out from our balcony, to taste the air and understand if the world is still turning.
Our world stopped at September 13, 2019
The morning passes as usual, with nurses coming and going, always punctual, loving, professional and friendly, and doctors patiently supervising their patients.
Lunch time becomes more the time for fresh air than the food itself: it is the moment when you see a new face, a new smell; the smell of food coming from outside, it's almost as if we left these four walls and went out to lunch in a restaurant.
And the meals they prepare at Neuromed are comparable to the restaurant.
Today's menu: pennette alla boscaiola, seafood second course, sandwich, water and peach.
Eugenio eats everything with taste and pleasure. If we were at home everything would be even tastier! But we are here, and we are well, thank God.
In the afternoon they call us for the eye check-up, and we are accompanied by dear Yulya, always smiling and courteous. There are a lot of people in the waiting room, but as residents we have a dedicated path that allows us to be visited early and not interrupt the queue of external reservations. Yes, here at Neuromed they are really well organised!
Eugenio's check-up goes more than well, the ophthalmologist reassures us that the diplopia ancora presente andrà pian piano scomparendo.
