Creed: Symbol of the Apostles
Let's read the Creed together
I believe in one God,
Almighty Father,
Creator of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
only begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages:
God from God, Light from Light,
True God from true God,
generated, not created,
of the same substance as the Father;
through him all things were created.
For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
and by the work of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate in the womb of the Virgin Mary
and he became man.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate,
he died and was buried.
On the third day he rose again,
according to the Scriptures, he ascended to heaven,
sits at the right hand of the Father.
And he will come again, in glory,
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
who is Lord and gives life,
and proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is adored and glorified,
and he spoke through the prophets.
I believe the Church,
a Catholic and apostolic saint.
I profess only one Baptism
for the forgiveness of sins.
I await the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
