I enter the text (Lk 12,54-59)
At that time, Jesus said to the crowds: «When you see a cloud rising from the west, you immediately say: “The rain is coming”, and so it happens.
And when the sirocco blows, you say: “It will be hot”, and so it happens.
Hypocrites! You know how to evaluate the appearance of the earth and the sky; why don't you know how to evaluate this time? And why don't you judge for yourselves what is right? When you go with your opponent before the magistrate, along the way try to reach an agreement with him, lest he drag you before the judge and the judge hands you over to the debt collector and he throws you into prison.
I tell you: you will not get out of there until you have paid every last penny."
I get inspired
The provocations today are clear and severe.
Jesus calls us to judge the things around us, the things that happen to us and the things that surround us.
But it is not enough to be simple "reality analysts" capable of predicting meteorological events or perfectly describing what surrounds us as a natural or cultural phenomenon.
We are called to "judge for ourselves what is right."
It is something divine that however makes us human.
So, in our life journey, becoming men means taking a position every time in front of things, comparing them with a truth, His, which is in us and which comes from Him.
I reflect on the questions
How many times do we rely on the authority that we deem most important from time to time to judge for us?
What helps me to be aware of the good that lives in me as His presence?
What do I bring, today, before the deepest judgment of my heart in prayer and interior discernment?

Our prayer continues for all our loved ones who are on their way to the Celestial Jerusalem. Let us hold firm to the thread that binds us to them, and help their progress with incessant and fervent prayer, especially in this period preceding the Solemnity of the Saints and their commemoration.

Prayer of the Holy Father for peace
For those who were unable to follow the live broadcast this evening and pray with the Holy Father for the peace of the world, we report here the booklet containing the entire prayer and Eucharistic Adoration; Below is also a passage of the thought that Pope Francis addressed to Mary to request peace and her help as Mother of all living beings.

We entrust to you and consecrate our lives, every fiber of our being, what we have and are, forever. We consecrate the Church to you so that, by testifying to the world about the love of Jesus, it may be a sign of harmony and an instrument of peace. We consecrate our world to you, especially the countries and regions at war.
The faithful people call you the dawn of salvation: Mother, open glimmers of light in the night of conflicts. You, abode of the Holy Spirit, inspire ways of peace to the leaders of the nations. You, Lady of all peoples, reconcile your children, seduced by evil, blinded by power and hatred.
You, who are close to each one, shorten our distances. You, who have compassion for everyone, teach us to take care of others. You, who reveal the tenderness of the Lord, make us witnesses of his consolation. You, Queen of Peace, pour the harmony of God into our hearts."

"Now, Mother, take the lead once again for us, in these conflict-torn and weapon-ravaged times.
Turn your gaze of mercy on the human family, which has lost the path to peace, which has preferred Cain to Abel and, losing the sense of brotherhood, cannot find the atmosphere of home again.
Intercede for our world in danger and turmoil. Teach us to welcome and care for life - every human life! – and to repudiate the madness of war, which sows death and erases the future”.
“Maria, you have come to meet us many times, asking for prayer and penance”
“We, however, taken by our needs and distracted by many worldly interests, have been deaf to your invitations.
But you, who love us, do not get tired of us.
Take us by the hand, guide us to conversion, let us put God first.
Help us to safeguard unity in the Church and to be artisans of communion in the world.
Remind us of the importance of our role, make us feel responsible for peace, called to pray and adore, to intercede and make amends for the entire human race.
We can't do it alone, without your Son we can't do anything. But you bring us back to Jesus, who is our peace. Therefore, Mother of God and ours, we come to you, we seek refuge in your immaculate Heart. We invoke mercy, Mother of mercy; peace, Queen of peace!”.
And we too pray, incessantly for peace.
