Reading time: 2 minutes
Monday, second week in Rome
Summary
Francesca at school
I accompany Francesca to school: the children crowd at the entrance door of the school, hungry for knowledge.
Departure for Rome
At 8.40 we leave for Rome.
John Wayne
The Italian motorway is beautiful: I feel like John Wayne in the far west.
Complete anarchy reigns. I set my trusty and faithful cruise control at 120 km/h, which in my opinion is more than sufficient; every time a missile passes me I try to understand at what stratospheric speed it can travel, but while I think, I can't even make out the shape anymore.
But oh well, those who race F1 on the motorway are the sons of... friends of... cousins of... the uncle of the guy there... they practically always have some "saint in heaven".
But I'm happy to travel at 120 per hour, and even less, so I get stressed and consume less fuel. My beloved Peugeot 508SW with my light foot recorded an average of 21.5 km/l
The comical thing is that these missiles, arriving right under the tutor, slow down. But what the fuck are you doing, haven't you read in the crisps yet that the tutor records the average speed on that specific stretch of road?
Nothing, Italian is an incomprehensible language for Italians!
At 11.20 we are at Gemelli polyclinic. I leave Giuseppina and Eugenio in front of the main entrance, and I go to park with my Chinese friends. Obviously I'm going to do some shopping da loro, è una questione di coscienza.
At 12.30 I go to pick up Giuseppina and Eugenio. We leave for home Rome
GRA
Medium intensity traffic we arrive at 1.10pm. Lunch with lentil soup.
Eugenio rests calmly. Giuseppina too. I work and write this diary.
Shopping
At 6.30pm a little shopping at Lidl.
Home Rome
Being close to Ciampino airport, planes fly close to us.
Like us.
