Our tradition dedicates the month of May to "Mother of all mothers“, Mary.

This year, Pope francesco ha fortemente voluto che il mese di maggio fosse dedicato totalmente, a livello mondiale, alla preghiera per invocare la fine della pandemia che da più di un anno sta distruggendo persone, società, economia ed entusiasmo.

Papa Francesco ha invitato i Santuari di tutto il mondo a partecipare a questa iniziativa, così da coinvolgere i sacerdoti, le famiglie e i fedeli tutti, invitandoli a unirsi a questa invocazione di speranza alla Beata Vergine.

Ogni giorno avrà una propria intenzione di preghiera rivolta alle diverse categorie di persone coinvolte e colpite fortemente dalla pandemia. Saranno ricordati nella preghiera, tra gli altri, i medici, il personale sanitario, coloro che sono morti senza aver potuto salutare i propri cari, le persone che hanno perso il lavoro, i nuovi poveri.

The prayer called by Pope Francis will be carried out daily by a Sanctuary in the world; it will start tomorrow May 1st, at 6.00 pm with Pope Francis from St. Peter's Basilica in front of the icon of the Madonna del Soccorso, in Vatican City. The prayer initiative will then touch the main Marian Sanctuaries in the world: Fatima, Lourdes, Medjugorje, Loreto, Pompeii; it will involve all continents and will end on May 31st again with Pope Francis, from the Vatican Gardens.

Making this appeal of Pope Francis our own, and having all been affected, directly or indirectly, by this pandemic, throughout the month of May the afternoon prayer of the friends of Eugenio of Sunday at 6pm sarà svolta con questi criteri.
