First Reading
Rejoice, daughter of Zion, for, behold, I come.
From the book of the prophet Zechariah
Zc 2,14-17
Rallégrati, exult, daughter of Zion,
For, behold, I come to dwell among you.
Oracle of the Lord.
Many nations will adhere to the Lord on that day
and they will become his people,
He will dwell among you
and you will know that the Lord of hosts
He sent me to you.
The Lord will hold Judas
as an inheritance in the holy land
He will elect Jerusalem again.
He silences every mortal before the Lord,
For he has awakened from his holy dwelling.
Word of God.
Responsorial Psalm
From Lc 1,46-55
A. The Lord remembered his mercy.
My soul magnifies the Lord
and my spirit rejoices in God, my savior. A.
Because he looked at the humility of his servant.
From now on, all generations will call me blessed.
Great things the Almighty has done for me
Holy is his name. A.
From generation to generation his mercy
for those who fear him.
He explained the power of his arm,
He dispersed the proud in the thoughts of their heart. A.
He overturned the powerful from the thrones,
He raised the humble;
He has filled the hungry with goods,
He sent the rich back empty-handed. A.
He helped Israel, his servant,
Remembering his mercy,
As he said to our fathers,
for Abraham and his descendants, forever. A.
Acclaim to the Gospel
Alleluia, alleluia.
Blessed are those who hear the word of God
and observe it. (Lk 11:28)
Alleluia.
The Gospel of 21 November 2025
Stretching out his hand to his disciples, he said, “Behold, my mother and my brethren.”
From the Gospel according to Matthew
Mt 12,46-50
At that time, while Jesus was still speaking to the crowd, behold, his mother and brothers stood outside and tried to speak to him.
Someone said to him, “Behold, your mother and your brothers are outside and trying to speak to you.”
And when he answered to him, he said, Who is my mother, and who are my brothers? Then, reaching out his hand to his disciples, he said, “Behold, my mother and my brethren! For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is for me brother, sister and mother.”
Word of the Lord.

“It is written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.’” You have made a cave of thieves »
Our Lord entered the Temple and, with the help of a lash, drove out of the Temple all those who bought and sold and said, “My house will be called a house of prayer. You have made it a cave of thieves.” What temple is this, which has become a cave of thieves? It is the soul and body of man, which are much more truly the temple of God than all the temples ever built (1 Cor 3:17; 6:19). When Our Lord wants to enter this temple, he finds it changed into a cave of thieves and a market place. Who are these merchants? They are the ones who give what they have – free will – for what they don’t have – the things of this world. How full of such merchants is the whole world! There are some among the priests and the laity, among the religious, the monks and the nuns. What a vast topic of research for those who want to study how so many people are so full of their will!… Everywhere there is nothing but nature and will of its own; many are those who seek in everything their own interest. If they wanted, instead, to conclude a contract with God, giving them their will, what a happy deal they would do! Man must want, to follow, to seek God in everything he does; and when he has done all this – to drink, to sleep, to eat, to speak, to listen – to leave the images of things entirely, so that his temple may remain empty. Once the temple is emptied, once you have cast out this bunch of thieves, that is, the fantasies that clutter for it, you may be a house of God (Eph 2:19), but not before, whatever else you do. You will then have peace and joy of the heart, and nothing can trouble you, nothing that now worries you without pause, depresses you and makes you suffer.
The Words of the Popes
Jesus formed a new family, no longer based on natural bonds, but on faith in Him, on His love that welcomes and unites us among us, in the Holy Spirit. All those who accept the word of Jesus are children of God and brothers among themselves. Accepting the word of Jesus makes us brothers among ourselves, makes us the family of Jesus. To spread others, to destroy the fame of others, to make us the family of the devil. That response of Jesus is not a disrespect to his mother and family members. Indeed, for Mary it is the greatest recognition, because she is the perfect disciple who has obeyed the will of God in everything. May the Virgin Mother help us to live always in communion with Jesus, recognizing the work of the Holy Spirit who acts in him and in the Church, regenerating the world to new life.
