Read and listen to the Chocolate of Calm
This story is dedicated to our little and big loved ones who, when they get angry or throw tantrums, become truly difficult to handle. A Chocolate of Calm, a magical drink that, perhaps, would also be good for us grown-ups.

Ira was a beautiful and very clever little girl.
Only, when a game didn’t go well, she became a little girl who flew into a terrible rage: she got restless, angry, cried and screamed until she was exhausted.
Her mother would say: “Ira, don’t get so upset. Come, let’s find a solution,” but the little girl cried and cried and nothing could calm her down.
One day Ira was building a tower with her construction blocks.
She had worked very hard because she wanted it to be really tall: block after block… but in an instant, the tower collapsed and the pieces scattered everywhere!
Ira flew into a rage: she cried and screamed so loudly that she woke up the Fairy of Silence.
Ira’s mother was in the kitchen washing the dishes: she had decided to leave Ira alone so she would finally stop these tantrums.
She didn’t see anything—not even the Fairy of Silence, a completely blonde lady whom only children could see.
The Fairy of Silence said to the little girl:
“Ira, why are you crying so much?”
“I’m just crying,” Ira said.
“I understand. You’re crying because you haven’t yet drunk the Chocolate of Calm.”
“What’s the Chocolate of Calm?” Ira wondered, because the word calm—but especially the word chocolate—interested her very much.
“It’s a magical chocolate, prepared in a magical kitchen. Do you have a kitchen, Ira?”
“I have a wooden toy kitchen that my mom gave me, but it isn’t magical,” answered the little girl.
“That’s what you think,” said the fairy.

“Tell me where your kitchen is, and I’ll prepare the ingredients.”
The fairy walked over to Ira’s kitchen: there were burners, a sink, an oven, and a clock to check the time while cooking.
“She’s serious,” thought Ira, and she walked over, handing her a little pot and a spoon.
“How do you make magical chocolate?” the little girl asked.
“Here you go,” said the Fairy of Silence, stirring inside the pot.
“We have cocoa, sugar, potato starch… I forgot the milk, can you get it for me?”
Ira also had a wooden fridge among the little cupboards in her room. She returned to the fairy with the jug of milk, even more curious.
There was nothing inside the pot: was the fairy pretending, or would chocolate really appear? Ira was starting to crave some…
“Come, Ira, stir a little.”
Ira walked over to the kitchen and stirred the pot with the spoon.
“You must stir slowly, slowly, and count to 10,” said the fairy. “Are you sure?” asked the little girl. “I’m sure,” said the fairy. They stirred together. 1, 2, 3… the little girl had learned to count to 10!
The wooden kitchen really was magical! In the pot, a creamy chocolate with a delicious smell began to appear. “Taste it,” the fairy told Ira.
“It’s good!” exclaimed the little girl. She had never tasted such sweet chocolate… “It’s the Chocolate of Calm. But you can only have it when you have the patience to stir slowly and count to 10,” explained the fairy.
At that moment, Ira’s mother, realizing that Ira was no longer crying, returned to see what had happened.
“Mom, would you like a cup of chocolate?” asked the little girl. The Fairy of Silence had disappeared; however, Ira was no longer a child who flew into a rage, because she now had the recipe for the Chocolate of Calm.
