Let's read together
When I started to really love myself,
I understood how embarrassing it is to have wanted to impose my wishes on someone,
despite knowing that the times were not ripe and the person was not ready,
even if that person was me.
Today I know that this is called “respect”.
When I started to really love myself,
I stopped wishing for another life and I realized
that everything around me is an invitation to grow.
Today I know that this is called "maturity".
When I started to really love myself,
I understood that I was always and on every occasion in the right place at the right time
and that everything that happens is fine.
Since then I have been able to rest easy.
Today I know that this is called "being at peace with yourself".
When I started to really love myself,
I stopped depriving myself of my free time
and to conceive grandiose plans for the future.
Today I only do what brings me joy and enjoyment,
what I love and what makes me laugh, in my own way and at my own pace.
Today I know that this is called "sincerity".
When I started to really love myself,
I got rid of everything that wasn't doing me any good:
people, things, situations
and everything that pulled me down away from myself;
at first I called it "healthy selfishness",
but today I know that this islove of himself".
When I started to really love myself,
I stopped wanting to always be right.
And so I made fewer mistakes.
Today I realized that this is called "simplicity".
When I started to really love myself,
I refused to live in the past and worry about my future.
Now I live more in the present moment, where everything has a place.
It is my condition of daily life and I call it "perfection".
When I started to really love myself,
I realized that my thinking can make me miserable and sick.
But when I summoned the energies of my heart,
the intellect has become an important companion.
Today I give the name of "inner wisdom" to this union.
We need not continue to fear contrasts,
conflicts and problems with ourselves and with others
because even the stars sometimes collide with each other
creating new worlds.
Today I know that all this is life.
