Summary
Let us not let ourselves be overwhelmed by the present; let us look up to Heaven, let us remember the goal, let us think that we are called to eternity, to an encounter with God. Let us renew today the choice to love Jesus and to walk after Him. #GospelofToday (Jn14,1-12)
During that time, Jesus He said to his disciples, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Have faith in God and have faith in me too. In the house of Father mine there are many mansions. If not, would I have ever said to you: "I'm going to prepare a place for you"?
When I have gone and prepared a place for you, I will come again and take you with me, so that where I am you may also be. And to the place where I am going, you know the way." Thomas said to him: «Lord, we don't know where you are going; how can we know the way?”
He told him Jesus: «I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to Father if not through me. If you have known me, you will also know the Father mine: from now on you know him and have seen him". Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father and that's enough."
She answered him Jesus: «I've been with you for a long time and you haven't met me, Filippo? Who has seen me, he has seen the Father. How can you say: “Show us the Father”? You don't believe I'm in the Father and the Father is it in me? The words that I speak to you, I do not speak from myself; but the Father, who remains in me, does his works.
Believe me: I am in the Father and the Father it's in me. If nothing else, believe it for the works themselves. Very truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do and will do greater works than these, for I am going to the Father".

Thomas and Philip are inserted between the discourses that Jesus leaves us in the last supper. Through their questions, the Master's words seem to become more concrete and understandable.
Thomasasks to Jesus clarifications on the place that he would have prepared for us, is a concern that had already emerged in other disciples on other occasions. Tommaso is worried about understanding what place it is and how he can reach it, by what route.
In answering him Jesus seems to indicate the Father as the place that prepared us and he himself as the way to get there. But to these travel directions he adds something else: he is also "life and truth".
In this way it shows us a way of fullness in the journey itself, however laboriously and distractedly we may carry it out.
Filippointervenes asking to better understand what the Father, after thanks to Tommaso it was clarified that the Father it is the place prepared for us. AND Jesus, in an answer that confuses destination and journey, tells us that he and the Father coincide: Jesus, the way, is in the Father and the Father it is in the street. In other words: if you are a pilgrim, you are in God, the precariousness of the road is the goal.
