I would like to cry out my pain.

It is a dull, dull, dumb pain. It's a gray that covers the soul.

Ma ecco che arriva Lui, la luce, quella silenziosa, quella notturna, quella luce soffusa ma capace di penetrare le pietre. Jesus.

E guardo il sorriso di Eugene. Lo sento sulla mia pelle, dentro il mio cuore.

Prayer to Santo Stefano:

O illustrious Saint Stephen Protomartyr, our heavenly patron, we address our humble fervent prayer to you.

You who dedicated your whole life to the prompt and generous service of the poor, the sick, the afflicted, make us sensitive to the many voices of help that arise from our suffering brothers.
You, intrepid advocate of the Gospel, strengthen our faith and never allow anyone to dim its vivid flame.

If, along the way, tiredness should assail us, awaken in us the ardor of charity and the fragrant fragrance of hope.

O dolce nostro Protettore, Tu che, con la luce delle opere e del martirio, fosti il primo splendido testimone di Christ, infondi nelle nostre anime un po’ del Tuo spirito di sacrifico e di ablativo love, a riprova che «Non è tanto gioioso il ricevere quanto il dare».

Infine, Ti preghiamo, o nostro grande Patrono, di benedire tutti noi e soprattutto il nostro lavoro apostolico e le nostre provvide iniziative, volti al bene dei poveri e dei sofferenti, affinché, insieme con Te, possiamo, un giorno, contemplare nei cieli aperti la gloria di Christ Jesus, Son of God. Così sia.
